Very Common and it is all about the brain and the body.
You need sunlight to make Vitamin D which is necessary for good health. So when it is cloudy and dark take a Vit. D supplement.
Also your brain needs melotonin and seratonin to function properly. You can take Melotonin supplements.
But for seratonin you need to boost your exercise, eat dark chocolate (one square a day), adequate sleep, and good nutrition.
Many people suffer from SAD which is caused from lack of sunlight to the skin. They do have special lights now that you can use in your home to cure this problem. You sit in front of it for 15 minutes a day.
Make sure on sunny days you get out in the SUN.

Sunlight has natural vitamin D and vitamin D is said to elevate moods. There is even such a thing as light therapy.
When it is rainy/cloudy, there are more ions in the air (ie" static electricity) and I think that the polarization "messes" with our body because our blood is made of 80% water.
Some days it seems to effect me and others, it doesn't.
Hope this helped! Have a great day!

The weather can affect people's moods because it's part of the environment in which we live, and if our environment is pleasant, we may be pleasant. Personally, I like it when it's sunny, but I also like it when it's pissing down with rain! It's depressing, yet a nice feeling..

i completely agree with you - but i think it has something to do with sense memory of sorts. you know the way when you experience something it can cause and old feeling good or bad. so if this is true then bad weather conditions Can make you emphatise with victims of storms, hurricanes and the like and good weather Can make you emphatise with the feeling of being on holiday in the sun - i hope that makes sense.

Psychologists may not know the neuroscientific reasons why this occurs yet, but there is research clearly demonstrating that our moods are influenced by the weather.
See below for a news article about this.
