If you post an answer contrary to the posters' biases, it never gets picked as a best answer. There could be MUCH more convincing answers that disagree with the poster's question, but they would NEVER get best answer.

Why is that? Are people on Y Answers childish enough to not realize a good answer?

Dont you think you are looking a little to deeply at this? Isn't this supposed to be just for entertainment purposes only? Of course people are going to pick the best answer based on their biases. People chose everything based on their biases. If you want to go to a new restaurant and your choices are Chinese or Mexican and you hate Chinese you aren't going to pick it no matter what reviews you read or how good your friends tell you it is.

I disagree. Yahoo answers is made up of a wide variety of people with varying levels of maturity and intelligence that probably follows something similar to a Gaussian a bell curve distribution. Most people might choose answers that confirm their bais, but a few others might not, so saying it will never happen is not true.

it isn't a count number number of even if it truly is *suitable*, yet even if it truly is an efficient way of creating options contained in the absence of unanimous consent (i.e. continuously). Majority rule is easily a bias in want of volume over high quality. Democracy is largely prepared mob rule. besides the undeniable fact that it is also likely the most non violent and efficient mind-set to governance humanity has yet arise with.

That isn't true. I have picked best answers that were totally against what I believed, because they made a great point. I think you have oversimplified the selection process for some people.
I guess if you don't pick this answer as best you can analyze your own actions?

people do pick their best answers baesed on biases because this culture in america teaches us to be biased. they tell us to buy american, stay loyal to america. we don't see how the culture of america is changing and we don't want to be of open mind to change our biases. this will be the down fall of our american culture.

Absolutely. They merely seek agreement with their viewpoint and not thoroughly investigating the question.

Just go to the religion section, you'll see what I mean.
