chances are that it came with two 512mb ram sticks. You would actually need to purchase two 1gb ram sticks each in order to double it.

Just check that you laptop has 2 memory slots. If it only has 1 slot with a 1gb installed you would have to buy 2gb chip. It more than likely has 2 x 512 chips so you could replace 1 of the chips at first with a 1gb which will give you 1.5gb which should be ample. Be careful when buying memory though to see it is compatible with your laptop.

Best place is below. If you download the software, it will check your pc and recommend exactly what you need.
RAM is easy to install, just make sure you touch the pc frame before handling the RAM and don't touch the pins.
Leave the pc plugged into the mains, but make sure it is turned off at wall. This makes sure the pc is earthed and doesn't build up any static charge.

u dont need to double it.. its good by 1 gig.. besides may be it will be an over load to the comp. just ask if ur lap can handle 2 gig. of memoy and if it does go buy another one.
