He would be making that up all year.

forgetting the birthday is a big deal....... i would pack a lunch and expect to be in said dog house for quite sometime
in saying that, a trip to a European city for 3-5 days staying in a romantic hotel and being taken out for several bottles of champagne and several extremely tasty meals may convince me to invite you back inside the house
seriously though, a weekend away somewhere would be a must. just because the birthday date was forgotten does not mean that
the birthday is cancelled
time to create a birthday weekend with lots of moments to make her feel special

Depends on how long we'd been going out. Less than 6 months, he's not obligated to remember everything, I wouldn't be very upset. If it was a long term relationship... I'd be moody for a few days about it. He could make it up by doing something thoughtful that didn't involve going out and buying a quick gift or flowers. Maybe a home cooked meal or a picnic or something that would show he put thought into making it up, rather than just saving face for himself.

He would be in the dog house for at least a week! And the only way that he could make it up to me is to get me a great gift and to clean the house for a whole month!

Forgets my birthday? He does that all the time. Do I care? No. It's a small matter and relationships are mutual love and respect so no one should be dealing any punishment as though they are the "boss". You have the right to be angry, but over something like that? It's ridiculous how whipped some men are that they will accept punishment for stupid things like that.

If you read the book "The 5 Love Languages" you will find out how each of your ladies respond to love. One may want a gift while another wants you spend time with her and another may want you to cook a dinner or clean the dishes.
Each lady responds in one of 5 ways. If you know which one she responds to you will not be in the dog house at all!

Haha, that really shouldn't be that big of a deal.. at least if she's not a really high maintenance chick, but seriously, don't worry about it (or your friend shouldn't worry about it), just make it up to her in a big way. How long in the dog house?: should last over night.

He would probably be in the doghouse until he made up for it. You can tell "your friend" to create a private belated birthday celebration for him and his girl. If she likes picnics at the park, or take out and a movie back at home...whatever she would love, something just the two of them...that isn't just a roll in the hay...make it a day about her even if it's something she knows you hate....if it's the ballet that she loves and you...your friend....hates the ballet...that'd would probably get him extra brownie points.

If he forgot my birthday he would be in the doghouse until he apologized for forgetting my birthday. If we had made these big plans for my birthday he would be in the doghouse for a little bit longer. He can make it up by taking me out to dinner or doing something really romantic to prove that he is really sorry.

He's not in the dog house. He's in my house. I bought myself a cake and after he enjoys some I am gonna celebrate my birthday with my guy!

It's impossible to forget my birthday because it's St. Patrick's Day. But even if he did forget, it's no big deal. I'd be a little hurt but I would get over it.
