there was a theory the Iceman was in a fight with one or more unknown assailants and managed to flee into the mountains where he eventually died because of the wound in his shoulder and other injuries.

I saw a program on tv that said he was shot in the back shoulder and died of blood loss.

Ãtzi seems to have suffered from intestine cancer. He also apparently had whipworm (Trichuris trichiura), an intestinal parasite.
