over three and you automatically get an application to join their society in the mail no matter how old you are. 'Sky' a.k.a 'Trixie Fireball' aka several others, is the president, but she's been negligent of her duties as of late, as she spends far too much time stalking people on answers.

I'm 28 and have 3... my 3 closest friends are the same age and two of them have 3 cats and the other has 4. We still consider ourselves to be "cat lovers" and have not yet crossed over that fine line between cat lover and crazy cat lady.

I think it has more to do with your relationship with your cats than how many cats you have. So long as you are able to maintain meaningful relationships beyond your cats - and the cats have not become your sole souce of companionship, entertainment or livelyhood, than you should be okay. It only becomes an issue when you live entirely for your cats and the rest of the world can go take a long walk off of a short pier - as long as nobody messes with fluffy or precious or snowball or oreo or peaches, etc...

I KNOW the "Crazy Cat Lady" PERSONALLY!
I won't say for sure, but she's over 40, and has 5 inside cats and 25 +/- 10 outside cats from one month to the next!

Well I'm 29 with four..so you should start hoarding now. Try to make it a goal to accumulate one about every two months for the next five years, and then one every month thereafter. When you reach the age of 65, you should start adding a bonus cat at least every week.

I'd say 45 years old and at least 15 cats. More for both is better though.

At least 7 and around 60 years old... I used to have 4, and I'd wake up some mornings and all 4 were on my bed....I would think of myself as one then....
