it can be horribly frustrating at times but when you know you just wrote something that is perfect then it is all worth it. so yeah, it is rewarding.

Writing for a living feels like slave labor. You are tethered to your computer most of the day, composing absolute crap for very little pay. Most of the stuff I'm forced to write is downright embarrassing. But it's what BUSINESS people want: Trite, cliched, garbage.

But you build contacts this way and build your reputation. It's just like any other career. You have to work at it.

If not financially, then psychically, yes! But be prepared for frustration and others' criticism and negativity. But if you need to do it--you are half way there, and the rewards are your own.

i believe that very few authors become famous and if they do, its too late...mostly it happens after writting many many books and getting the worst critiques. i think its a very 'painful' career, you get disappointed all the time but if you stick to it and you are really worth it, you will eventually get what you deserve
