People tell me I'm good at singing, and I even posted some videos on xanga and got alot of really positive comments from people I don't even know! From people all over the US!
What should I do? I sometimes sing in my church and I'm getting a voice coach soon but I don't know where to go from there... Can someone please give me advice!?

I'm almost 16 by the way, I was really into music when i was 12 then I started thinking I was bad at it. but now I'm getting alot of positive feedback so I really want to get into music. I absolutely love it. Its probably the only thing that makes me truly happy.

Musicians/singers sign a contract with a record company, then make an album.

You need to get discovered by a record executive or producer who can get you into the door. Most people have to go to big cities, especially LA, New York and Nashville to get discovered.

And the more talent you bring (video making, band member, dancing, etc.) the better. Good luck!

I personally have started in College. I think you always need an education and more importantly a back-up plan. I am going for a business degree, then a Masters in Music Business. I will also have a minor in Musical therapy. This gives me option, if my voice goes out. They also have many Classes for Music (voice, instrument, etc...).

Well, try to get signed. The best is when you write your own music. but believe me, if you're a singer, you're going to have trouble in the music business. Hardest proffesion to be successful in the world. try joining a band. much more luck with that. Good luck!
