My friend was unable to go to court, and when we looked on-line at his case, it says "estreat". Whats that? Next to warrant, it says BW. Whats that? What does all this mean?

"Estreat": A true copy, duplicate, or extract of an original writing or record, esp. of amercements or penalties set down in the rolls of court to be levied by the bailiff, or other officer.

"BW": Bench warrant!

Best wishes!

Not sure of "estreat" Are you sure it didn't say "escheat" which would pertain to property involved in someones estate that is going to the state because no one claim it. The BW beside warrant stands for Bench Warrant. Something that is issued because fail to appear for a court hearing. Would recommend you contact an attorney.
