I'm headed to South Padre Island, Texas, for Spring Break. Will my friends and I be allowed to bring our beer when we go to the beach, or is there some rule against this?

If you find a website, could you post the link for me?

I lived Corpus Christy, Texas. a few years back. The rules are the same there as is in any other state or public recreational park.
You can bring it but don't drink it.
If you do decide to drink., do it conspicuously. Place the beer in ice cooler and away from you to where if a beach patrol were to confront you can say you just came from a private party or a nearby bar. This way you will not be carrying anything w/ you.
Now that`s how we`d do it and we never got caught.

"nuff said"

Best of luck, Padre Island is a great place to be this time of year. Lots of wild and pretty girls. enjoy!!

South Padre Island Beach Rules
In Texas, all beaches are considered public highways and all traffic laws still apply. A posted traffic sign reads 10mph when entering the beach, but you can coast to around 25mph up until you hit the Willacy County boundary line (N26°24'39.91"W97°13'24.68") where you can drive as fast as you want. However, be careful and DO NOT SPEED PAST 25MPH within the Cameron County region as Park Rangers are very strict. This is for the safety of everyone as well as for environmental reasons because of the heavy traffic usage within this boundary.

There are quite a few regulations and rules for driving on South Padre Island , but you should be very aware of the following:

• No driving on or behind the dunes or mudflats behind the dunes

• No driving on private and wildlife property

• Open fires or camping in or behind the dunes are prohibited.

• Pets must be on a leash

• No firearms

• No treasure hunting

• No trespassing of private property

• No ATVs

• No glass containers

• No speeding (more than 25mph)

You CAN do the following:

• Camp IN FRONT of the dunes

• Hike on U.S. Fish and Wildlife Property

• Fish

• Swim and Surf

• Sun bathe nude in Willacy County region (though, not officially)

• Park an RV and any vehicle overnight for as many days as you want

While it may seem that the restrictions outweigh the things that you can do, it should be noted that Padre Island is the last and longest undeveloped sand island in the world. Extreme care should be taken in order to preserve this awesome landscape for future generations to come.

As long as the beer is in can's you should be fine - and of course if you are all 21 years or older.
