Watch "Worst Jobs in History: Worst Jobs of Tudor Times" hosted by Tony Robinson. It shows some interesting info on manufacturing / dyeing of cloth.

The current issue of Renaissance magazine has a good article on the manufacturing of wool in medieval Europe. After that you would only have to find info on the other widely used domestic fabric; linen. and the 2 major luxury imports; cotton and silk.
