If you've been having sex in the last month, yes, it could mean you're pregnant. Sometimes when that's all you can think about though, we can see every little sign as meaning we're pregnant. Really, the only way you can tell is to take a pregnancy test, either from your doctor or a store bought one, which is less accurate.

But to me, the biggest issue, if you're NOT trying to get pregnant, is that if you're going through this same stress every month, you're not protecting yourself. There is such a variety of birth controls out there that there's something for almost everyone; some you think about every day, some every 3 months, and some you keep in place for 5 years. And if you're having unprotected sex, you're also putting yourself at risk for sexually transmitted diseases.

Finding out if you're pregnant as early as possible is very important, so you have the most options available to you, one of those options being to ask the nurse/doctor about birth control while you're there if it turns out you aren't pregnant.

It's really about being a woman, and being proactive about our own health, safety and timing when we want to become a parent. Good luck, hun, I wish you the best!

Take a test since you are 5 days late. You may also want to visit your doctor if these irregular periods continue.

Go and get a home pregnancy test. Your cycle may just be changing...most cycles change every 7 years.

5 days late should be enough for you to be able to use a pregnancy test.

I hope it will turn out in your favor.
