Currys are doing some really good cheap laptops for around £400 to £500. But I would be wary of wanting a Vista machine. Even with a mega high spec, Vista is really really slow and sluggish to run and comsumes a huge amount of memory. For the time being, I think you'd be better going for a cheap laptop with XP Media Center

Youcan discover this kind of computer almost everywhere. Why are you asking yahoo? Why quite do not you ask the position you are able to get 2 such laptops, then you definately promises one to a Library (so a wounded lawman like me can talk the reality, or supply it privately to a de@dbeat dad who as so large an imputed income that his baby help ammounts to a stop artwork order and shun, without patent rights, copywrites and etc. hey, de@dbeats won't be able to fish everywhere besides the undeniable fact that the web ! and positively thats in reality until eventually some politico makes a call he hasn't beaten up a Liberal sufficient that day and takes it. So truly, you'd be making both "partisan" communities chuffed, both the Conserfatives, who get to deny someone the needed suitable to loose speech an extra suitable time, and the Liberal, who inspite of the truth that using "agreements" with the authorities by technique of his internet service, he can't particularly get the note out to absolutely everyone yet a doccumenting conserfative (for use in courtroom hostile to him); yet he can experience for some moments sorta like he's getting some licks in hostile to those who ruthlessly destroyed his effective existence to make interesting of his being liable to a gaggle of hoods ~ conserfatives.

you can find cheap laptops all day long on ebay, but I don't think you'll be lucky enough to get one with Vista. Wait a little while if you can until Vista is more widely available and thereby cheaper.

"really cheap" and "fast with a big screen, loads of memory" are pretty much mutually exclusive.
Your best bet would be to order a middle-of-the-range machine by mail order, so that you save some money compared to what you'd pay on the high street.

Search for good deals from Dell, via the e-value codes, or get a cheap Acer from PC World.
