Question : Defragmenting my hard drive?
Question Details: If you quit it/ hit the x before its finished will that in anyway damage your file or will you lose any files??

No, defragmeting your hard drive simply condenses and organises it. The files should just remain as they are if you cancel it before it is finished.

Nope! nothing is harmed when exing done before it finishes. Just try re running the defragmentation process. FYI - defrag is like organizing an entire library, if the books are organized. It's easier to find the books (files) you're looking for right?

You can stop it but why would you want to. If it is taking a long time it is because it is badly defraged. Just let it finish.
