is it bad for birthcertificate info to get out... if so what can happen?

Not the info, but the birthcertificate itself can be used to get a SSN and card. With that done there you. Not sure an unnoterized copy can get it, but if they get that orginal your screwed. Social Security Numbers are something to really worry about.
