you dont really have to give him much now since he wont be able to have much during basic for the Air Force. The party that someone else promised is a great idea and then promise to write him very often during basic. It is a GREAT feeling to get letters as often as possible while in basic with lots of words of encouragement.

You sound like a great Mom. Maybe you could get all his friends and your family together for a surprise Graduation party. People could bring food and help you decorate. Take lots of pictures, and later present him with a photo album full of party pictures.

Maybe a photo album full of pictures of all the happy times that you have had together. He can take it with him when he leaves for the Air Force and it will help him when he misses you.

Sounds like you've already given him that which is priceless. Don't worry about your inablity to purchase silly trinkets. If he's a good kid, he'll understand.
