ok....last night, 3/5/07, after sex I realized I had bled during sex, but only during. I did not bleed any after that. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I have been married for 6 yrs, so I know I don't have an STD and I had a normal pap 3 months ago....My last period was 2/9/07, so I am due for my next one on 3/9/07. So basically this happened 4 days before I am suppose to start. Does anyone have any idea why this happened or what it was?

Heavy bleeding (like a period) should be checked out by a doctor. If it was just a little bit of spotting, it could be a number of things... just plain old rough sex can cause you to bleed, especially if you weren't wet enough. Your cervix may be a little friable (delicate and susceptible to bleeding) at this time of the month, too. And, not to be vulgar, be sure it was vaginal bleeding... once I was rather startled by bleeding that turned out to be from a razor nick:)

If you don't start making a habit of spotting blood during sex, I wouldn't worry about it. If this continues to happen, then again your best bet is to ask your doctor.

Maybe you have a vaginal infection and the skin was irritated, so the friction just caused you to bleed. I know deep penetration can cause bleeding, ie when you get a pap smear or something similar. Either way, you should contact your gyno and see what they suggestion.
