Was reading in the newspaper about the cookery show Saturday Kitchen which asked viewers to call in to the "live" show, for callers to vote for which of two meals Eamonn Holmes should eat.
But the show was pre- recorded a week earlier.
Why didnt Eamonn bring this to our attention. He must have known.
Also, an ITV phone in quiz called ' Play' was censured in January for making the answers too obscure.
Viewers were asked to name items you might find in a womans handbag.
Among the 13 so called correct answers were -
Balaclava and rawlplug.
Another example, is Ant and Decs Takeaway, and their phone in for the Grab the Ads contest, same allegation as R & J.
I dont phone in very often, and I never will again.

The whole things is a bit fishy....
was reading in a newspaper today that ITV made £200,000 due to this error!!!! GOD SAKE!!
Late night quiz show The Mint on ITV Play - which rakes in an estimated £18million a year - was taken off air early this morning.
Experts estimate the phone-ins boost ITV's annual profits by up to £50million.
How's that for a fast earner!!!

You defintely have a point! I watch GMTV every morning before I go to work. When they do the competition for Chequers to arrive at your door the next morning with a Cheque for £10000.00. I always think - now that can't be right, I come from Northern Ireland, so if I was drawen as the winner would they pull all the stops to get the crew and Chequers over here for 8.00am the next morning with my Cheque. I don't think so!
So do they pick their destination first, and then draw a call from that area that they have already planned to go to?
god we could ponder these telephone competitions for hours, great question!

I think they're all dodgy, I wouldn't waste my time (or money) on any of them. These days, most competitions even go as far as to say that you are not guaranteed to get through to have a chance of being the lucky winner, but you'll still be charged for the call. A rip off.

I have always thought from years back as soon as we had to start telephoning in for these reality shows and the people who should not have gone where kicked out it was all one big fix.
I think any phone in comp/reality show is all fixed so I do not vote as I refuse to waste my money. It was not because I was being mean it was because I did not trust it.
ITV/BBC/Cable/Sky all of them fishy as cod!

My sentiments exactly. It was obvious to me,that at 5.30pm,they had to have their contestant. They needed to check they were available and to brief them.Richard and Judy were saying "lines will close in two minutes" as they went to the break at 5.30.Like you and me and thousands of others they knew people were phoning after selection.I wonder who the whistle-blower was.Possibly a contestant selected before 5.30?
