Ok...for all of you who answerd my question about the 4 inline carbs on the 82 suzuki 650, Im not real sure the gas is leaking from the carbs...It seems to be coming form the base of the idle screw...is there a seal there or a fuel line that may be leaking? I can feel the bottom of the idle screw but i cant see it.

I am not sure about your particular carbs, but, many carb idle mixture screws have very small "O" rings. Usually there is a spring on the screw then a small flat metal washer then the "O" ring. If you take the screw out many times the screw and spring will come out and the other two (or one) pieces will stay in the hole. Frequently people will not know this and during a carb cleaning will blow out the holes with compressed air and send those pieces flying without ever knowing they were there. Then, after reassembling and installing the carbs they will leak from the screws and people will not know why. Usually the only way to get those "O" rings is to buy a carb kit, one way I used to remove them was to use a piece of mechanics wire with a sharp small hook/ "L" shape bent on the end. I could use it to reach down into the screw hole to hook the washer and/or the old "O" ring out. If you end up pulling the screw out to replace or change the "O" rings be sure to note how many turns the screws were set at so that you can reinstall them to the same setting

The fuel line coming from the petcock, attaches to the carbs in that area.
The line could be cracked/rotted.
Or the tube the line connects to can be cracked.
That tube goes L&R into the carbs and is sealed with o-rings. One of the o-rings could be bad.
A float bowl gasket could be leaking in that spot.
Clean and dry the carbs. Sprinkle some white baby powder in the area of the leak and turn on the fuel. The baby powder will dis-color at the spot of the leak.

Was it leaking before you messed with the carbs? are you sure it's not the drain screw?
