she has been like this for over 2 months now. after i apologized to her and she has been rude to me all this time. and now she wants the mailbox key and i told her if she wants it, she needs to start acting more civil towards me.

my old roommate had to move out. i found this person on craigslist. they only gave us one mailbox key to begin with.

Start searching for a new room-mate, and no do not give her the mail box key. You resided there first and there is only one key, if you give it to her she will have the upper hand, where as you will have to ask her. Tell her when and if you leave she can then have the key. GL and start the search or live alone for sanity reasons. =)

She has a right to access her mail; preventing her from getting into the shared mailbox could be a federal offense.
