My feet have been quite swollen lately, and I was just wondering, Is there any other way to get the swelling down besides putting them up? Im 36 weeks pregnant and laying on my back isnt comfortable... any advice on other ways to get the swelling in my feet down? Please, anything (that really works) will help!

My sister in law just had a baby (her first) in Sept. and she would drink more water when she got swollen feet. I'm only 22 weeks but once in a while I get swollen ankles .. and I drink more water and it reduces it (pretty quick!) .. it also helps me get my wedding ring on. My fingers tend to swell too :)

good luck! God bless!

My feet/ankles get pretty swollen in the evenings...

My kitchen has this stone tile that stays pretty cold...not painfully cold, but quite cool. My husband can't stand to walk on it without socks on! I'll actually sit in a computer chair with both feet flat on the cool tile...it feels sooooo good! That's about the only thing that's given me any comfort. Sometimes after my husband comes in from walking the dog outside his hands will be really cold...so I have him put his hands on my feet and ankles...His cold hands soothes me and my feet warm up his cold hands! Kinda odd, but it works for me!

Since you can't lay on your back...how about sitting on the couch or a comfy chair with your feet on an ottoman?

The only way to get the swelling down is to get tehm up...you shouldn't be lying on your back anyways...you can cut off blood supply. Sit up in a chaid with a foot stool. Hang in there...its onyl 4 more weeks to go.

u could try soaking them, but as soon as u walk around they are gonna swell bk up. just try to stay off ur feet as much as possible and wear house shoes or flip flops for comfort. At least ur at home. I had classes to attend for college and had to wear flip flops in the cold and rain because I couldn't get my feet into any gym shoes.

Soaking them helped me. I got one of those foot spas and loved it. I would also mention it to your OB because sometimes swelling can be a sign of some complications.

As much as this seems odd...drink a lot of water and this usually reduces swelling.

Check with your Dr. to make sure everything is okay. Many people experience this, but it's better safe than sorry. Be blessed!!
