For my son, we bought the Vent-Aire system, thinking it was such a good concept. However, he had a different idea. We ended up with the cheap Nuby brand bottles.

For my daughter we were given Avent bottles. Considering how much they cost, we figured they were some of the best. My daughter is fine with them, but you have to dry the threads on the bottle and lid, plus the bottom of the nipple inside. If you don't, they are guaranteed to leak. If you do dry them, then they might leak, might not. She's our last baby, and thank goodness she's almost done with bottles.

It truly depends on the baby. Your best bet would be to buy several types and keep the packaging. Return the ones that the baby doesn't like. As long as you wash them and still have the receipt, the stores shouldn't give you a problem. And, you are supposed to sterilize them when you buy them anyway...so no real germ worries. We got the expensive Second Nature bottles and the slightly less expensive Playtex Drop In Nursers. On a whim I bought a couple of the cheap Evenflo old fashioned bottles in plastic. Don't you know, she loved the cheap ones. She is 9 months and still refuses the Second Nature. She'll take the Playtex Nursers when nothing else is available. I love the Playtex Drop in Freezer system for my breastmilk. But the bags work from Gerber just as well.

PLAYTEX NURSERS WITH DROP IN LINERS

They are the bomb. No cruddy bottles...No grody bottle brush...they're great...my only complaint is that the don't come in medium sizes.

The have 4 oz and 8 oz...It'd be nice if they had 6 ounces...but I think I'll live...lol :)

I don't know about your baby...but my son has on occasion tried to hold his own bottle and has succeeded in flipping it in the air and knocking himself in the noggin...I'd hate to thing of the goose egg or the concussion..that he would have gotten with a big ole glass bottle! And I'm dropping stuff all the time too...

The glass bottles seem cool...but Id pass.

i'm nonetheless making use of the 1st actual glass infant bottle that my mom had for me 27 yrs in the past. i don't have many glass bottle because of fact BPA loose plastic ones are extra value-effective and that i've got approximately 30 because of fact I pump, freeze and feed interior an analogous bottles so i choose plenty because of fact maximum of them are interior the freezer. The glass ones I do have although are the evenflo classic and that i've got dropped an 8 ozone from the perfect shelf in am kitchen cabinet onto the laminate floor, 7 foot drop onto a tricky floor and it did not ruin, it in all probability might have if I had tile flooring yet on laminate or carpet they don't ruin whilst they're dropped.

I tried them all literally...
My first liked the Playtex with the drop in liners- they were good.
BUT my second would not drink out of anything but the Evenflo Comfi.. they are angled so the nipple stays full of milk and doesn't allow the air. These also attached to my pump, which worked well.

I don't know that there is a clear answer to what is "best" I went with what my child prefered and would drink from.

I use Avent bottle with our son. We've never had a problem with them. Plus you can buy additional peices as the baby grows, like sippy cup handles that attach to your current bottle. Very cool. I find that no matter what, the baby will get air bubbles some way, somehow, so always burp them afterwards.

I have tried many types and my favorite by far has been the Avent bottles. I did not like their breastmilk storage containers, though. It took FOREVER to defrost. The plastic bags work much better.

I like the ventaire bubble-free bottles from Playtex. It has a gentle curve to to aid is easier feedings and with the bubble free my child isn't so gassy and fussy with upset belly. Plus they are easy to take apart and clean and are even easier to put back together.

there are new warnings out about plastic ones, especially the plastic breaking down when warmed. We always just used the medela plastic (those werent on the warning list) that came with the pump then bought orthodontic nips.
