I have some video cards in mind when I buy my next computer.

#1 256MB PCI Express nVidia 7300 Turbocache graphics card

#2 256MB PCI Express ATI X1300 Pro

Will any of these cards that are installed be any good for FSX. I dont want any flickering in the buildings, trees, and so on. As long as FSX will run smooth, thats all I care. Iv got a Dell Computer in mind, it cost £629 its a Dell Dimension 9200. Thank you.

Well those cards are NOT IT!

Instead of SMOOTH , all you will get with those cards are : THORNS.

Those cards share system memory and are NOT GAMING cards. They are garbage.

STAY AWAY from them.

If you want a decent gaming card for FSX, you need to invest about 200$ to 250$ minimum.

From your list # 1: The 7300 BUT ONLY if it's the 7300GT ...

If it's the 7300 LE go with your ... #2 Card the X1300:

but both are old cards... do not expect to be able to run Flight Sim with all the bells and whistles....will be slow and low graphics....

Flight Simulator is the most hardware intense program in years....forget about the minimum requirements they have on the box..thats just to open the program... i would say it will not run as well as you would like with any of those cards...

Currently i have a ATI x1950 pro card and a 3.4ghz processor P4 and 2 gig of memory...still this game runs slow. i have no issue with any other games.

To take full advantage of 3D aspects of this game you get with DX10 you would need one of the new nVidia 8800 series cards..and a dual core processor (CPU) and 2 gig of memory and Vista (but i would do without vista for a few more months)

Before you buy download the demo...maybe a friend has a similar computer you can check it out.

See 4th response down in the attached thread....Sorry it is not the answer you were hoping for....
