With the European launch of the Playstation 3 just over 2 weeks away, is it as good as everyone seems to be saying.

What is it like from a users perspective and what games do you think are best?

Also what is the sixaxis controller like to use?

Personally I think the PS3 has great potential. But like most new consoles it has recieved heavy critisim. People complain about load times and overheating when the 360 had those same issues at its launch. The Wii didn't do bad at all but it had its share of issues as well. But this isn't about them, this is about the PS3 so let me break it down.

Games:
Sony has had a good track record of great 3rd party support. Resistance: Fall of Man is great for single players, and if you have friends, MotorStorm is a great party game that has recieved high marks. The only reason the PS3 isn't doing as well as it should is because it was late and it had to share titles with other consoles. But with the second generation of games fast coming like Metal Gear Solid 4, Devil May Cry 4, Final Fantasy XIII, and more, it won't take long before Sony become a powerhouse company. Not only that, but there also a PS3 online store where you can buy smaller games like Mortal Kombat II or Sony original titles like Flow. (Which reminds me if you get the 60GB system, can you say: Wireless Internet)

Hardware:
You asked what the Sixaxis controller is like. If you use BlueTooth with your cellphone, then you know that connectivity is fast and effective. And since you get it in the box Sony has eliminated the "joystick isn't long enough" problem. The Sixaxis controller has even gotten an Emmy Award for "Peripheral Development and Technological Impact of Video Game Controllers" by The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences on January 8, 2007. To go even deeper, the potential of the PS3 is astounding. According to nearly everyone, the Playstation 3 has at least 15 times the power of the Wii and at least 2 times the power of the XBox 360. You don't see it so much now, but what do you think will happen in a year or so when publishers get a handle on the system. Finally, I have one word for you: BluRay. BluRay disks have much more memory than hdDVD disks and are become very popular, very fast. So it's better for you to get the jump on the competition by getting a system that comes with this built in.

The Final Word:
Though people have a lot to say, only time can tell what will happen with the Playstation 3 and I don't want to load you down with information. All I want to say is that the PS3's future is brighter than what anyone seems to think.

I was one of the ones who waited in line for over 24 hours to get a PS3. To be honest with you, I'm very disappointed.

I already owned an Xbox 360 and was very pleased. I hoped that the PS3 would expand my gaming experience. I wasn't really looking to have a competing console, but just another spectrum of the gaming world. The PS3 in that regard has been very disappointing.

There are very few (if any) notable exclusives that are currently out. If you can get the same game, the same graphics, and a more reliable online experience from a console that's several hundred dollars cheaper, why not go for the 360? That's my advice for now.

Down the road, when the PS3 has a stronger roster of titles and more exclusives to warrant another system, I would probably recommend it.

This is a large purchase and I think you should make the decision that gives you the best experience for your money. Right now, it's the 360 or the Wii over the PS3 hands down.

Oh Yea Its Good If You Play Online. If You Do, Resistance: Fall Of Man Is One Game You've Got To Have. So Far The Games They Got Out Now Arent Too Good, But Give It A Couple Months And The Games Will Get Better. The Controller Aint Much Difference Than PS2's Other Than Its Lighter And Wireless...Well I Think So. Overall The PS3 Is A Great System To Get If You Wanna Shell Out All That Money. I Say Its Worth It

Blu Ray is a waste of money claiming to be the only disc suitable for next gen graphics when Gears of War has proven it isn't, the sixaxis is a bad attempt to rip off the Nintendo Wii's controller,It is horribly overpriced as well £425(you could almost get a 360 and Wii for that) and thats the cheapest. It also hasn't got Xbox Live ,Halo or Gears of War or Mario or Zelda or an Innovative control system(sixaxis doesnt count they just ripped off wii).Unless you have a giant HD tv, your a diehard Metal Gear Solid fan who is also interested in Resistance Fall of Man and Motorstorm your better off with Wii or 360.

My advice is to get a 360. Playstation does not live up to the hype and they have been having many overheating, freezing, not ejecting games, and other bugs occur. My friend has a PS3 and I have a 360, and he spends more time at my house playing than he does at his own. 360 has better game selection, equal graphics, (I think better at times) and it's cheaper. Also the x box online community alone overshadows any other system. PS3 is losing their exclusive rights to multiple games such as Grand Theft Auto, and Assassins Creed to x box because the developers know the 360 will probably sell more. However if you plan on using your system for movies n all that too the PS3 is blue ray but in my opinion it's not worth it.

I would say that its about = with 360. The 360 has graphics at the same level and it has the HALO series and Gears of War. BUt the PS3 has free online play and bigger harddrives, but not as many games. The PS3 is HD ready and the 360 isn't. But 360 has the ability to connect to PC using Zune software or Media Center. So I say as far at features:
PS3 - 9
360 - 8

Everything else:
PS3 - 9
360 - 10
