I was born in Europe, so of course was not circumcized. You did a wonderful thing for your son. He will have more sensitivity and sexual pleasure in adult life. The glans will be protected from rubbing against clothing. He will not run any higher risk of STDs, though he will run a higher risk of HIV infection if he has sex without a condom and his partner is infected.
Throughout the world, the vast majority of men are uncircumcized. In America, circumcision rates are down below 65%, and fall each year. On the west coast, the rate is only 39%.
Thank you for not mutilating your child!
And no, I have absolutely no regrets about being uncircumcized. I have not had any illness or problems associated with this, and I enjoy a very stimulating sex life.
There are no problems with smell or cleanliness - though boys need to be taught to pull it back when urinating, and when showering.

I think you made the right choice. If you son disagrees for whatever reason, or due to whatever medical necessity, he can get always get circumcised later. Yeah, it'll hurt and he'll remember, but it IS his choice. Breathe a sigh of relief on this.
I don't regret having my foreskin, I like having it. I've never had any problems with it (not even teased about it). Some people do have problems and it happens, just like it's possible to have problems with any part of the body, but most don't. It's not hard to clean or take care of, and it's relatively easy to prevent the things most people find negative about the foreskin - i.e. smell, hygiene, smegma, infections, etc - all easy to prevent/remedy.
While to many keeping the foreskin clean and how to go about it is common sense, others might find it awkward because they've no experience, and can do the wrong things or a bad thing worse. Look at the links for more info on this.

No regrets at all. I love it. The US is the only "industrialized" country that cuts newborns (Europe, Asia, and Latin America doesn't cut), although the rates have fallen a lot. A few decades ago it was almost universal for guys here to be cut, but the rate is now at 55% nationally, and as low as 30% in the West Coast. The chances of him "being made fun of" are now low compared to the adults' times that post here. I'm a high school senior in California and have never had such a problem.
Probably everything you need to know about his foreskin is that once he can slide it back (may take a few years; since it starts off attached to the head to keep anything from getting it dirty) tell / show him to slide it back and wash it when he showers / bathes. Tell him it feels good; plus it only takes five seconds to wash and rinse off. =)
Here's how the foreskin is and works:

And a few day's ago I found this link; basically, it lists all the reasons that doctors may try to get you to cut your child. Just so you know to say no. =)http://www.mothering.com/articles/new_baby/circumcision/protect-uncircson.html
Good luck with your son; I'm sure and hope that you will have a great relationship with him, just as I did with my mom!

No problems at all for me. A lot of "statistics" about Africa say
that it reduces AIDS. It's biased because if you use that reasoning, America which is largely circumcised, has a higher
proportion of STD's per circumcised than uncircumcised.
Never had an infection, problem and so far, the ladies like it.

I love my uncircumcised penis..... it just takes a little more effort to keep clean. I have a pretty strict daily regimen that works great though: a thorough wash with soap and water followed by the use of a penis health creme called Man1 Man Oil. This creme helps keep my penis extra clean by destroying leftover bacteria down there. I take these steps and I get nothing but compliments on my penis. Hope this helps.

i am happy that my folks did not...of course i got a lot of 'looks' in the showers at school and what is wrong with you, Glory?
word spread fast though with the girls, and I couldn't get a BJ for nothing....not meant to be mean, but it is a fact of life thatit will happen sooner or later...
when my son was born 2 years ago in Jan, my wife & I did not circ him, either...this is becoming the norm now, NOT TO CIRC.
hewill probably have similar trouble, but it is ok
there is no bona-fide medical reason that it has to be done...my pediatrician told us that circ'ing was started because it was a billable procedure (and still is)
congrats to you!
good luck
make sure that when he gets to be 2 or 3, that every night in bathtub that you roll the foireskin back so that you can clean under it...you may run into some scar tissue that will prevent this, but your doc can fix it with out circing...

I'm circumcised but felt I had to answer as I hate it. I have felt mutilated ever since I was a kid and saw how another friend played with himself. All intact males can use their skin's gliding action to stroke the entire length of their penis during masturbation and it also acts like lube when entering the vagina. Circumcised males use what skin they have left to masturbate with or they are forced to use lube. Intact males can use lube or their skin. In fact circumcision was introduced to the west as an anti-masturbation measure. Of course it has no effect on how often you do it but it definitely changes how you do it. It removes 15 square inches of skin in an adult male, about half the penile skin and that skin has a sexual function.
I felt so bad about this I had to seek counselling after bottling it up for years. I didn't tell my parents how much I hated it until I was 40. I have many intact friends who are happy and most of the boys growing up in our extended family and circle of friends are also happily intact.

The same sentiment was just posted in womens health.
This is an open forum,, HA HA
You want serious,,, see the Dr..
I wonder if you know how to care for your son's penis.
YOU need to pull the foreskin back to keep his head clean and yeast free. You must also inform him to continue as he growes older. Good Luck and God Bless.

Congratulations - you made the right choice.
We are born with a foreskin for a reason. It's obscene to hack off part of your child for what are basically cosmetic reasons.
If he really wants it done (why he would I have no idea) then he can get it done when he's older. He won't though - it's great fun to play with.

No, I don't regret it at all. I've never had a problem with hygiene or infection. When your son is older, just teach him how to wash under his foreskin and he'll be just fine.
