The first day of my last period was Feb. 5. It was normal like all the others. I have been on the pill for 6 1/2 years - and have been religious about taking it every day at the same time - especially since January (I'm getting married in Sep. and don't want to be a pregnant bride!) From about 2/19-2/22 I had this weird pinkish-brown discharge but no blood (I know it's gross but maybe it'll help with an answer). This has never happened. I was supposed to get my regular period on 3/2. Never came. Neither did all my normal PMSing. My fiancee' thinks that I've been too stressed at work, and that weird discharge probably WAS my period come early and caused by stress, so now my schedule is all off-kilter. I've never had a period that wasn't heavy with a lot of cramps, headaches, bloating, etc. I took a pregnancy test this morning - it was negative. I read about "implantation bleeding" yesterday - don't know if that's what's going on (and don't think it is).....Has this happened to anyone?

You seem to have a lot of stress in your life right now. That could have a lot to do with your period being late. You're only 4 days late though. I would wait a few more days and if you still haven't gotten it, take another test. However if you can't wait, get another test, but get one that says you can take it before your missed period ( I like EPT digital). Then take it first thing in the morning. Good luck.

Give it a couple days, your hormone levels may not be high enough for a pregnancy test to come out positive yet.

I had this happen to me last March, I thought for sure I was pregnant. I was in tears, not knowing how we can afford to be pregnant yet. I had all the same signs as you did, but it turned out that I wasn't pregnant. I was so distraugt then, I had gotten myself prepared and then was so sad I wasn't actually pregnant.

So we decided to try this summer and found out I was pregnant after our first try. I didn't have implantation bleeding during this one, but many women do, it is a short, browinish pinkish discharge that only lasts a day or two.

It could be either. I hope whatever answer you seek about this pregnancy is what you get. Also know, that even though your mind may be thinking you want it one way, your heart may take over when you find out like mine did. I was depressed for almost a month afterwards. If this happens to you, give yourself the right to be depressed. Some friends and family thought I was being silly considering how worried I was about being pregnant.

if it's 'implantation bleeding' you should have gotten a postive pregnancy test. If the test was negative chances are you are not pregnant - the urine tests now are just about equal o the urine test your drs office gives you. If you're also on the pill, chances are slim that you are pregnant as well. It's only a few days late - lots of things will do that - stress, an infection but mostly stress. And if you are pregnant, there is nothing wrong with being a pregnant bride - life happens - even the best precautions fail - trust me.

this happened to me and i had a cyst! they usually cause spot bleeding, headaches and pain. you should go to another doc and get tested. i dont think you need to go now, its nothing really serious, just wait about a week, if you dont get your period, then most likely its just stress, because stress will cause your period to stop, be late, spot. I was so stressed out once, and it took me 2 months to get my period back! Wait til April for your doc apt, dont think you are pregnant, if your test was negative, then you are not pregnant. Like I said, stress does cause this! You should not worry about it. If by the time your apt comes up and you still have not gotten your period, they will check your for more things, but it might just be stress! If you dont have no naucea, breast hurts, feel like throwing up, etc, then you might not be pregnant. pregnancy does not cause headaches, cramps, and bloating.

you might have a cyst, the cramping might be from the pain that the cyst is causing, and cycts also cause bloating.

Hi there. I'm sorta in the same predicament as you. Last period was Feb 4 and due on March 5.

On March 1st, I got date-raped. Couple of days after that I was spotting. At first I was relieved because I thought that it was my period... but I stopped bleeding at night. I'm guessing its implantation bleeding?

Now my period is late, but only by a day. I think its still too early to tell but I'm stressing out, scared that I might be pregnant.. really hope that this is not the case because that is my greatest fear...

Wish you the best of luck.. I hope for both our sakes that we're not pregnant.

I would think that right now not to stress out about it, it is still early, not that much time has passed. So many things can throw us out of whack, stress is definately a big one. Try to relax, give yourself a week, if nothing yet then try another test. But I am thinking that it will show up, or the weird stuff was it for this month. Our bodies have a mind of their own.

Take a pregnancy test 5 weeks after the first day of your last period. That result should be accurate.

Not this exactly, but I have had periods that were just light brownish and skipped periods altogether when I was under stress. You can take another pregnancy test next week to be sure, but it doesn't sound like you are pregnant.

I know you are used to your normal schedule but women have been known to skip periods due to stress for up to 4 months in a row.......although usually is rare and one is the usual!!

Other reasons for drops of blood to be seen are pullups but I doubt to be that if you have really been stressed. If you are still worried after one more week go see your doctor it will help you not stress anymore than what you are already!
