I'm a virgo and I totally agree with JOHN F N. I think that the difference between when virgos are perfectionists or messy all depends on how much they care. When something is important to me I go over every single detail of it again and again until it's acceptable to me (this drives everyone in my family absolutely crazy). But if it's something that doesn't really make a difference to me in my mind or something I know I could never perfect anyway, I won't but as much effort into it.

I had a relationship with a virgo for many years. And I was driven 'nuts' by her checking everthing she bought, looking for flaws. In that sense they are slaves to perfection, but on the other side of the coin, are mess makers. I cleaned house most of the time and would find 'garbage' under our bed. Her clothes wewre thrown in the drawers, not folded neat. So with her looking for flaws on the clothes that she or I bought for her drove me 'nuts'.

I am a virgo so I speak from experience....I am a perfectionist and I am critical of others and of myself and I am efficient. My house is clean for the most part with the exception of a messy drawer or two.

They do work hard to make things they create, perfect. But I think it has more to do with their love of work. Perfection is the excuse.
