Hi

You don't need an agent.

There are rules about how many hours you can act and you would need a chaperone, BUT that's not your problem, that's the problem of the production company.

However that's off in the future, you need to get a job first.

The Stage is one source as someone mentioned. Having one of your parents join http://www.notapushymum.com/ is good idea because that has lots of auditions on it and like-minded parents.

Other possible sites are http://www.mandy.com/ and http://www.starnow.co.uk/ unfortunately StarNow requires money if you actually want to reply to an audition.

Once you do get to an audition, don't be put off when you get rejected. And you will be rejected 99 times out of 100. Directors are always after a certain look, and if you don't have that look then it doesn't matter how good you are. (Of course, sometimes they don't even know what the look is until they see it.)

Auditions are always good experience, never think of them as a waste of time.

Bear in mind, that there are fewer roles for girls than boys, and also more girls wanting to do it. If you can play younger than you are then that is a good thing.

Apart from that, join a local youth theatre, get all the experience that you can. Student films are very good to get into, because they are usually quick (often just one day), and there are lots of them.

Good luck.

Once you get into highschool more opportunities will be available to you. But for now... take after school classes. Most places that have classes hold auditions available to the students for a play or musical. Also in the summer a lot of community theater groups put on summer shows. Just look at what is available in your area.

I would check at local colleges for plays/musicals or have your parents buy a newspaper and see if there is anything you can do out there in your community. Maybe in the mean time brush up on your abilities by taking lessons. It never hurts to perfect the natural talent you have so while you are waiting for your time to shine you don't get rusty! Good luck!!

Have a look at The Stage every week and see if any are advertisied in there. Without an agent it's your best bet.

Of course....depends where you live. Check the phone book for community theaters, children's theaters and the like. Ask teachers for help. Go for it, and study hard.
