i do think marijuana should be legal. its a natrual plant not some plant u grow by yor self. if people want to prohibit mary jane there dum. they can one day have an illness where to the only thing that can cure them is mary jane but they cant use it because they want to prohibit it. if marijuana is so bad to the point to where u cant us it for medical use because people use it with a wrong purpose then why dont gov take cigarretts and cigars tobacco and all that drugs for getting high off the counter? im just saying that mary jane should be like any other drug on the counter? its just the way i see it i dont know about you

I differ from your point of view and that of most of the others who have answered this question. The answer to your question is a resounding "NO". I am 56 years old and went to college in the late '60's and early '70's. I saw too many students trash their education over drug use, including those who "only smoked marijuana". I have seen marijuana users in rehab. It is addictive. And, long term use can cause genetic damage, leading to birth defects in the user's children and grandchildren. So, for your own sake and the sake of your kids and grandkids, don't do it.
As for alcohol, it too is addictive. So too for tobacco. However, using their legalization as an excuse to smoke marijuana makes no sense. Bottom line is that they are all dangerous and marijuana is the most dangerous.

I think that I have asked this very question on YA also. I agree that it should be made legal. There are people that pot does help and you can't get around that fact. There are other ways that you can get the drug other than smoking which then would not cause lung cancer. You know that when it was made illegal they were calling it marijuana, but people called it hemp? After they made it illegal people were shocked that they were talking about the same drug that made people "Crazy" which is the exact opposite that Hemp does.

I don't see why the government has a problem with it. They can just put a tax on it, after all! If people can buy alcohol, then why not marijuana? Smoking it is a personal choice, nobody's going to be forced to have it. Though I think that, as with cigs and alcohol, an age restriction should be imposed.

Personally I think all drugs should be legalised and regulated.
But just sticking to marijuana I absolutely and without doubt think it should be legalised!! Alchohol does far more damage to individuals, families and society than smoking dope. It's daft to make dope smokers criminals; it's not like they're doing anyone any harm.

No, it should not be legal to smoke, only in it's derivative forms (which are currently prescription drugs). You should not be able to buy it, smoke it, and then do something dangerous like drive a car. Just because assholes drink and drive is no excuse for tokers to do it also.

Yes it should. I have never heard of anyone overdosing from marijuana. Or marijuana causing lung cancer.
