for the reguar computer (PC) in another room, you can have it either wireless or wired (cable).

For cable, you would need to buy an Ethernet card (i bet it already has on in it) and an internet cable (Cat5) to connect from the back of your computer to the router. You don't need to configure anything to run the internet. Just plug and play.

For wiress, same thing, but a little diff. It's also an ethernet card, but it's wireless. It will have an antenna sticking out. Ask the sale person at your location computer stores. If your router has WPA (security) enabled, then you would need to tell your computer to use the samething, otherwise, you won't be able to use your wireless signal from the router.

Each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. What I would do, move the router close to your PC, so you can just run a short cable instead, since your laptop is wireless, you won't need to have the router nearby, but depends how far from 1 from to other, your signal may gets weak if they're too far away from the router.

There are two kinds of wireless connection cards you can choose from. One requires opening the computer case and putting a PCI card with wireless capability in an empty slot with the antenna sticking out. The other has a wireless capability (including antenna) and sits outside the computer and uses a USB cable to connect it. Both are about the same price. The internal one is a little harder to install but takes up less space near the computer when you are done.

Why not put the WiFi router in the same room with the PC, and use an ethernet cable from the PC to the router. Much cheaper than buying a wireless nic.

you need a wireless network card, it can be a USB one or a PCI one, the USB will be easier to install and use, whereas the PCI one will take a little effort to install, but it should work just like the USB one. Go to PriceGrabber.com or PriceGrabber.ca and search for Wireless PCI Card or Wireless USB Adaptor

Good Luck

I'm not endorsing the product below, there are many versions, ... but the link will show you a card that can be added to you computer which will allow it to operate wireless. There are dozens of places in the computer business that sell these and similiar cards.

a wireless card for that regular computer - you can ask a tech guy on a computer store on what wireless card is compatible with your computer .. and then once you got the wireless card on your computer is installed then you can call thr mfg of the router for the set up or call your isp (that is if they support the router) .

you can buy a wireless Network adapter which plugs into you computer. They normally have a USB interface. plug it in, load the drivers and you can connect the PC to the router wirelessly.

A wireless network device...either a card, or an adapter that plugs into your USB port.
