Do you have children? My ex husband was in the Special Forces and was gone most of the time. We lived on a 42 acre "farm" and I had a horse, outside dogs, took the kids to every soccor, football, cheerleading, and basket ball practice, went to all the games, did all the house work and mowing and bush hogging. I also had to keep the dog's pen repaired cause they were ALWAYS getting out. I also worked full time, so honestly, I never got bored. I did get lonely once in a while, but never bored!

Get a new hobby. Sign up for something. Find some new friends. Do what you've been wishing you could do forever, but kept putting off. Go visit friends in other states, travel. I can think of a lot of things. But go with him sometimes too if it's a shorter trip and you can get off work. That could be exciting....

Oh, and tell him to make sure he stays away from those nasty "Lot Lizards"! :)

You might want to look at going back to school and getting a degree. Or maybe working a part time job in town. If this is to much maybe take up painting or work on the house. Good luck.

Beleive me I know what you are going through, my husband is military and I see him sometimes even less than that.
The key is to have your own life, your own career goals, your own hobbies, your own friends. Don't wait to "live" until he gets back, do what you need to do to experience life wether he is there or not. Don't wait for him to make you happy, be happy with yourself. Now the question of how do you make your marriage be happy under these circumstances? ... I have no advice there.

I would hang out with friends more... Go to swordfighting school... Take pottery classes... Read more... Learn Egyptian hieroglyphs... Or, if all else fails, I'd play World of Warcraft a lot!

If it were me I would join a gym and get a killer body! I would also spend a lot more quality time with kids and other family members.
