Hang it up in a bathroom or laundry room. Something about the steam/moisture helps to rid the item of that smoke smell. You may have to leave it hanging up for a few days depending on how bad it is.

Place it in a clothes dryer with a scented dryer sheet or a cloth dampened with Febreeze for about 10 minutes. That usually does the trick for me. And - to all those who said stop smoking - I agree. Unfortunately , some of us non-smokers still have to go into public places where others are smoking. I wish it was banned nationwide!

I would hang it in the bathroom and turn the steam on high and hot then spray the room with Febreeze and that should take the smell out.

This is a hard one to do. I had this same problem once with an ex's coat. First, saturate it with Fabreeze, then bring it to a dry cleaner. This will usually do the trick. Hope this helps.

Febreeze Scent eliminator. Next time you cook or smoke put the jacket in a place where the scent won't permeate.

There is a dry cleaning kit sold at supermarkets that works wonders. I does a few loads so it is worth the money although it is not expensive.

you are going to have to get it professionally cleaned. I wouldn't try doing it myself I would be afraid I would ruin the coat
