I know benjamin Franklin invented it but he also invented the bifocals, the Franklin stove, and electricity.

I did know hat some states did not participate.
Also I am aware than Ben Franklin did not "invent'' Electricity technically because it does occure in nature. So he more acurately made important "Discoveries" about it.

Note:

Japan, India, and China are the only major industrialized countries that do not observe some form of daylight saving.

Equatorial and tropical countries (lower latitudes) generally do not observe Daylight Saving Time. Since the daylight hours are similar during every season, there is no advantage to moving clocks forward during the summer.

Most countries have it including all of Europe but we call it summer time. Our clocks go forward a few weeks later than yours.

Clever through he was old Ben didn't invent electricity because electricity was always there. He made some "key" discoveries about it.

About half the world observes it.

And it is only parts of Arizona and Hawaii in the US which do not observe DST. The entire state of Indiana began observing it last year, even though the NW, SW, and SE corners had been observing it for decades.

About 70 countries have daylight saving time. They might call it something different. Japan, India, and China don't have it. Countries near the equator usually don't have it.

I'd hate to think the rest of the world is that dumb. But based on the previous answers it sounds like other countries do it too.

I live in Germany and we have daylight savings time here. I also know they have it in Iraq and Kuwait, so I would assume they have it every where.

not sure about countrys but I know arizona,alaska and illinois do not practice it in our own country.
