I personally thought it was phenomenal. Aside from the obvious action scenes there was a lot of eye candy; the visually-stunning backgrounds and amazing screen shots gave it a surreal feeling, while the plot of how men are really supposed to be (not the metrosexuals that are in so much demand thanks to MTV's definition of what a man is supposed to be) seemed to strike at the psyche of all the guys I know who feel short-changed by society's expectations. This is similar to the feelings that the movie Fight Club created in young men (generation X).

I think overall there will be a lot of critique about the historical accuracy (it's not historically perfect, but had much to offer), its racism (yes, the Spartans did practice eugenics and were not multi-cultural or multi-ethnic while the Persians were not all "white"), and its misogynous stance (aside from Gorgo there are no women characters, but then what women could there have been?). Either way, it has a lot to offer for nearly everyone who hasn't made political correctness their creed.

Omigod! I just saw it today and I'm totally blown away! What an awesome movie! I was fascinated every minute! The script, the costumes and sets, the music, everything was just PERFECT!!!

I was blown away by the action scenes, they were choreographed very nicely and looked pretty realistic. I own swords and I know it's not easy to swing those babies for long, you really have to be in good shape and these guys really looked it! Like real warriors not the weekend warrior type.

OK, there was some gratuitous nudity (young "oracle" in flimsy gown, the Queen of Sparta) to keep the young, testosterone laden men interested until the carnage but I guess that's only fair as we women were treated to the sight of all these buff guys in skimpy war outfits.

The bad guys were suitably bad, LOL! Ah, it was just a spectacular feast for the eyes in many respects and was very inspiring. No doubt I'll go see it again while it's still in the theaters and immediately snap up a copy when it comes out on DVD!

I saw the film yesterday.It is an excellent film and not far from real history.I leave in Greece and my son`s name is Leonidas

I don't favor battleship, but 300 is so excluded.
it was great. i like the narrator style.
i was a bit disappointed the hero wasn't that good looking, but he won my heart through strong heart, modest lover, and through heroic fights. watch it.!!

I saw the movie Friday night. The effects where great and all but the director displayed the Persians as monsters. Very biased movie in my opinion. Please do your research beforehand.
