How long is a trip to Boston and what is there to do in Boston as well? I'm going along with some friends to the Cape for the weekend and we are trying to figure out some plans. Thanks!

How long is a trip to Boston and what is there to do in Boston as well? What about Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard? I'm going along with some friends to the Cape for the weekend and we are trying to figure out some plans. Thanks!

There isn't alot going on in Sandwich this time of year unless you like to shop at outlets, but it is about an hour to an hour and a half to get to Boston where there is plenty to do. If you want to stick to areas around the Cape your best bet would be Hyannis which is the largest town/city on the cape or towns close to Hyannis. Forget the islands (Nantucket/MV)for now...it's better to visit in late spring or early fall when everything is open for business, but the crowds aren't overwhelming.
As for Boston, there are all kinds of museums, nightclubs, restaraunts...the Prudential building and/or Newbury Street are good places to check out for shopping or a trendy cafe. Also, Cambridge is just a subway ride away and has lots to do in Harvard Square.

This time of year, much of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard is closed down. It is the off season.
In Sandwich, there is mostly cultural things to do. Museums and things.
It takes an hour to get to Boston from Sandwich and there is tons of stuff to do there. Anything you can think of really. Good shopping at the Prudential Center and Newbury St, nightclubs, amazing restaurants.

Boston is about three hours from the Cape, so I would recommend that you visit the Cape one weekend and Boston another.

Sandwich has a historical downtown, some museums, used bookstores, and several restaurants including a great one called the Beehive.

Nantucket Island has a Daffodil Festival in the spring, but the exact time depends on the local weather. It is a chance to see the first flowers in New England.
