You need to put the variables (letters) on one side, and the numbers on the other by using addition and subtraction.

EX:
2R-1=4-R
add 1 to both sides: 2R-1+1=4-R+1
2R=3-R
add R to both sides: 2R+R=3-R+R
3R=3
then solve
R=1

Get it?

The answer before mine is correct. You need to add or subtract the same value from both sides of the = sign each time, to get the variables all on one side.

So in the first one on your list

2R - 1 = 4 - R

Add R to each side

3R -1 = 4

Now add 1 to each side

3R = 5

R = 5/3, or 1 2/3

-1 -1
2f=5
f=5/2

Well, all the your equations can be solved once you take the numbers on one side of the = sign and the letters to the other side.

remember that you need to change the sign when you switch side
