I recently noticed that the gear shift lights are dim (Reverse, drive, neutral, etc.). I thought that they were supposed to be illuminated somewhat when you put your lights on (for driving in the dark, etc). Is the light out in my car, or was it always dim? Also, if my car is no longer under warranty, what would it cost to get that fixed?

There may be a knob that controls the intensity of the light. my other guess is that it is a flaw in the lightbulb, weak electrical signal, or it may even be hard to see dirt blocking some of the light. repair cost depends on problem and competency of mechanic.
