Do you try on shoes before you buy them? If you enter into marriage not knowing whether or not you are sexually compatible, you are asking for trouble, unless you know for sure that both members of the marriage are open minded, willingly able to compromise, learn, and adapt. And how many people know that going in? The rules for marriage and relationships are created by human beings who are not infallible. The same sets of rules do not apply to everyone. I think a couple needs to live a similar lifestyle while "courting" as they will when married. Sort of a rehearsal, to test their compatibility in ALL categories.

It can be essential to some but not to others, it used to be whatever the woman wished, some wanted to be married as virgins, standards is what it is all about.

well obviously not, but most ppl do, infact a girl i kno is pregnant she only knew the father for two weeks when she was on holiday in egypt (the gezza lives in scotland apperantly) and she's 11 believe it or not but its true
if one or both partners want to wait they should, if they dont respect each other then the person deserves better

In your case it doesn't matter since you are showing it off, so a woman already knows what she's in store for. Your next step will be to prove that you know how to use it!

For me, I'm waiting for marriage before I have sex, so to me, no, sex isn't an essential before marriage.

YES, you have to give her a trial run,as one would with a car,after all you don't want to have one or the other thats no good.

I wouldn't get married to someone unless I knew we were sexually compatible. But I don't know if it's right for everyone.
