I was looking for friends on a site (kind of like a personals site) and I started to talk to this girl, and she wants to hang out with me. She sounds cool, and like someone I'd get along with. Thing is, she gave me a fake name (her e-mail was registered to a guys name) and only 1 picture (she has a camera phone, but won't take another picture for me) So, I think it's actually a man pretending to be a woman (it's happened to me before, but luckily I found out before I was to meet this person!) And I don't want to meet her if I'm not sure if it actually is a "her!"

Is there any way to find out who the phone number this person gave to me is belongs to? Like whose name it is under?

Thank you!

You can do a reverse look-up on anywho.com, but if it's a cell # it won't show. I wouldn't waste my time with it if the person has already lied. Why do you want to set yourself up for more lies?

The people who answered previously and gave you a website to check out is good advice, but here's the real answer... You don't want to be friends or anything else w/ a person if you have to do such detective work already and you haven't even met. They have already been deceitful and won't grant your simple request for another pic. There are predators out there!! Remember this rule, "When in doubt, don't do.." Good Luck.

Try a reverse number look up on the web. I do it all the time to see if someone is legit (from classifieds and such).
