It would fill an encyclopedia......there are literally thousands of books on this subject: Simply put, after the "Dark Ages" when plague and other disasters eliminated many people and most known knowledge in Europe, times finally got better. A renaissance occured (look the word up in the dictionary) in the Middle Ages (medieval times) and art, engineering, and learning blossomed again....

Medevil times was when europe was cut off to the other places. When faith was really important. They had lord ladies surfs and knights etc. Reniassance was after medevil times it was the rebirth of art music and many other things.
