I'm going to have a tummy tuck done in a couple of weeks. I've seen several before and after pictures and I feel satisfied that I want to have this done. I am 5' 9" and weigh 131 pounds, but I have a roll of skin on my abdomen from having had three babies via c-section.

Is there anyone out there who has had a tummy tuck and can e-mail me regarding questions that I have. Because of privacy, my doctor would not give me the names or numbers of anyone that I could talk to or ask questions of.

basically, I want to know if you're glad you had it done? What did it cost? How long were you off work? Pain level? Scarring? Weight/inches lost? Stuff like that.

Anyone out there?

I have had one and couldn't be more pleased with the results. There is a really great site at www.tuckthattummy.com where you can talk to other women through forums and you will find just about every tummy tuck situation. Plus, they are great for support if you run into any complications or have questions about how your PS plans to do the surgery, because not every tuck is done the same. A lot of people post their pictures as well so you can get a general idea how how results vary.

Yes feel free to email me anytime through yahoo. To answer some questions you asked. Yes i am glad i did it. I had it for the same reason as you, not a weight issue, but excess skin after two babies and c sections. I paid $7,000 for it. I was off of work for about two weeks and yes it hurts bad but they give you some good pain meds. You will literally be stuck in a bent forward position until you can stretch upwards but don't force it. It happens gradually. The scar is from one hip to another but has faded a great deal. It can be hidden very easily. Any other questions just email me.

I'm a nurse and also had this procedure. I am so very happy with the results. I want to encourage you to follow all the aftercare instructions and have your questions answered for anything you don't understand. You have to eat right and exercise in order to stay fit and get the desired results. You will notice in about a month how much better it looks, some people notice right away but as you heal, it looks so much better. I wouldn't trade my surgery for nothing in the world and it is a real ego boost. I wish you all the best, take care.

I am actually going for a consultation in Ottawa next month. But you can get pics of before and after online. I have seen them.

never had it but know someone that did, it's great if it goes great...... DO NOT ignore any pain you may feel after the surgery.
Don't want to scare you, I just want to warn you! Good luck
