got me a good $500. Now, should i build the outhouse like i promised or buy enough beer to fill the bathtub? Help me decidin' here folks!

Hang onto it, add more to it, and by the time the weather gets better, you can build a GOOD outhouse. Run an electric line like we did. It doesn't need to be an "outdoor No door" either.
Or, try some type of corrugated material for the roof, so there's some light. Like the type for barns.

Maybe just half the outhouse and half the bathtub of beer. That way you can have the best of both worlds!
