Or do I keep a standalone shower and tub/shower combination? What is best for resales?

I would remove the standalone shower and keep a tub with shower. You could always build a storage cabinet in the place of the standalone shower.

I agree with the first answer - I'm a Realtor and you never want to drop the tub, no mater how tempting! AND, I'm proof - I love the tub, take a bath 4 to 5 nights a week and shower only to do my hair 2 to 3 times a week.

We're doing our master shower next month and we're getting a shower tower - means a big metal shower thing on the wall - and has a tub spout - with 6 body jets, a hand held shower sprayer, and a big shower head at the top with these twisty wagon wheel type arms that spin and spray water.

Super cool - retails for 3K and we got it on line direct for $540. I'll get the site for you and come back to list it.

For purposes of resale, I would provide a combination tub/shower. This covers both options that the next homeowner may want. At my house, we take showers and almost never use the tub for a regular bath. We would have been happy with showers only, but for resale someday, we decided to go with the tub/shower combination.

Good luck with your bathroom project.
