Is it possible to eat right, excercise and work out and lose the baby weight plus the extra weight before baby, tone muscles and actually look good? Get the curves and all, or is this unrealistic? Thanks so much! Imma post a pic from before i was pregnant, see if you all think its possible to actually have a goal of 120-130 or if this is unrealistic. Prepregnancy weight was 160, im on my third pregnancy and im 5'2 Thanks!!! I feel so big and i want to look good again.

Number one question - when was that pic taken? Have you ever weighed 120-130 be4 and if so, how long ago!? Sorry for the 20 questions, I'm a Personal Trainer, so it comes with the territory hehe Of course it's possible to lose the 'baby weight' .. tone and look good. All it takes is some dedication.. hard work and persistance. :O) Easier said than done - I know haha Now, I'm not sure you'll ever get down to 120-130, without knowing your history, BUT, it IS possible to get in even better shape than when you were 'pre babies' haha
Find a QUALIFIED trainer in your area - and be sure to ask.. there's alot of 'trainers' put there who have absolutely NO training. Talk to them about your gaols and what you want to achieve - and just know.. its gonna take some serious hard work.. and working out and eating good - when that might be the LAST thing you wanna do right then. But it can be done - I've seen it with my own two eyes!! ;) Just remember, if getting in shape and lsoing weight were an easy thing to do - everyone out there would have fantastic bodies hehehe
Good luck - let me know your progress ;)

It is possible, I am doing it now, 6 yrs after having baby #4. Try the South Beach Diet. Read the book first so you understand it. I have lost 20 lbs in 2 months with NO exercise. I am just now starting to exercise to speed things along. Been heavy pretty much all my life, but this is my heaviest. Have 4 kids and never lost all the pregnancy weight before getting pregnant again. Good Luck.

The thing with the stomach is that I don't think it ever really goes back to normal. I've talked to a few other moms and even though the weight is gone, the stomach just does not feel the same. Plus, if you have had three pregnancies and gained a good amount of weight, your stomach may have excess skin. You can still look and feel good. Getting in shape is a great ideas. Just don't expect to look like Heidi Klum when you are finished. I just heard somewhere that heart disease is not only the number one cause of deaths among women, but it can affect young women.Get in shape for your health and you will look and feel better.

Getting your body back entirely is on a case by case basis.
How much did you gain during the pregnancy?
Loose skin is difficult to fix. I lost all the weight within a few weeks, but I was suffering from sepsis, and was also breastfeeding.

However I gained 50 pounds in the last month due to preeclampsia. That fast weight gain over a short period of time stretched my skin (even on my feet) to extremes, and I will probably have to have surgery.

Enjoy your baby, and don't worry about your body so much.

It is possible but you need to be careful and loose the weight slowly. Best exercises are swimming and pilates as they focus on core stability (the lower tummy muscles that get really stretched arent toned by regular situps). I wouldnt start any new exercise regime until 3months post baby (or post breastfeeding) as thats how long it takes for ligaments to return to normal. If not you risk injuring your joints. The quickest and healthiest way to loose weight post baby is breastfeeding.

you should be taking care of yourself all the time, exercise all the time, exercise release happy endorphines and make you feel better about yourself. I've been taking care of myself, exercising normally (well I did have to stop the pilates but I did keep walking and kept up with my aerobics) I have ate normally and yes, gained some weight but if you stop looking at all the numbers and started looking at the health of your heart and the way you take care of yourself, you will do fine, when baby comes you will have more energy and will want to take baby out and show them the world. And just remember, just because you don't look like paris hilton doesn't mean that you aren't pretty.

no it's not unrealistic. i weighted 115 b4 i was pregnant and i breatfeed and did pilates< an exercise for injured dancers, taht targert your core muscles> and ate right and i was 120 a year after! it takes time and detication, but it is possible! i love the pilates and now my 2 yr old does it with me! and if i don't do it one day, she goes and gets my dvd and says "piates mommy!" it's great modivation! we also go to the park and walk around at least twice a week
