It's smart insurance!

I don't know if you have a condensate pump, or if it drains on its own, but anything can happen. The impeller broke on my pump, it was running away - doing nothing. My wonderful builder or his sub-contractor tucked the overflow float wires into the wiring cabinet, but connected to nothing! Water all over the floor.

Drains can plug, tubing crimped, you get the idea.

yes,the moisture or density from the ac has to go somewhere,thats why when you see an ac in a window or anywhere for that matter,there is always water dripping from it.unless it has a drain or pan for it to go into.
