How and when was your baby conceived...for my research?

Question

Did you have a boy or girl? Was your baby planned? Did you time intercourse for a certain time during your cycle, if yes which day or days? How many days did you have intercourse, one time or many times? Do you remember a certain position you used when you conceived? I am doing research on the truthfulness of natural gender selection. Thanks for your answers.

Thanks for your opinion amanda, but this is for research. If you don't want to answer then don't. How else am I going to figure out if these things are acurrate unless I ask about other people's experiences.

FYI...I've come to conclusions on my research. There are of course going to be the extremes. But for just the normal stuff. People that have intercourse very often and start like 4-5 days before ovulation are going to have girls. Especially if they favor the missionary position. And people that have intercourse only once to a few times, and plan it out so it happens on the day they ovulate or after, are going to have boys. And those who are more likely to try lots of different positions are also more likely to have boys.

sorry I'm not getting right to your question but, i think its stupid for someone to call you sick when you plainly said your doing research on natural gender selection, and i dont see how this is considered personal chat either .... if they thought it was to personal they could have clicked right to another question........

I haven't had baby yet, but I have had so many ultrasounds that there really isn't any doubt about it being a girl (including one that was 3D/4D.) Our baby was planned, we decided to start a month earlier than we'd like to have the baby (I'm a teacher and wanted to use roughly 6 weeks of sick leave and then have summer vacation.) We were possibly going to have problems due to the inconsistent periods I have. I was lucky to be able to feel when I ovulate, so I know that I conceived somewhere between July 28th and 29th of 2006. We got pregnant on our first try. My doctor said that we should be trying every other day...so that is what we did (my husband said he was never happier.) No specific positions, regular boring, after awhile it was more like a chore than anything (that's horrible to say huh?) I'm 27 and was 27 at the time of conception, the Chinese calendar says it should be a boy, but it is definately a girl. The way I carry her people tell me she is a boy (she went from being sideways at 25 weeks, to be pushing against my cervix so I carried her low...part of the reason I'm on bedrest.) I thought she was a boy too because of how horrible I was sick and how crazy active she is. Almost everyone (including complete strangers) told me she was a boy (didn't help that my hubby is really the only boy on his side of the family...they really wanted him to have a boy.) Currently 37 weeks with my first. I am 32 years old (was 31 at conception)

3. I think we started having sex around when i ovulated (14 days into cycle), then had sex every other day for a week-2 weeks. Only had sex one time each day.
4. don't remember position, most likely missionary. During that week also had girl on top. Don't know which of the days we conceived on.

***we got prego on our first month of trying.

Boy, he was planned, but it took 6 yrs to get. I was taking my bbt and we did try on certain days every other day. I also had the Clearblue fertility monitor purchased for Christmas 2000 and by Feb 01 was pregnant found I was not ovulating when I thought it was later. On the position.. well it could have been any of them.. lol. Propped up on a pillow for 30 mins after each time also. This one I am pregnant for is a "Surprise" we went to a water park this summer and I think I shook up something.. lol and boom prego!! Good luck on the research.

Planned or unplanned? Very much planned (tried for 4 1/2 years)
Timing and days of intercourse? Tried to...was on clomid and supposed to ovulate between day 16 and 19 from past cycles. We had intercourse on day 13, 18,19, and 20. I ovulated on day 19. We had sex once on each of those days.
Positions? We had sex with me on top each time.

Yes, we used ovulation tracking methods: BBT chart, cervical mucus under a lens.
I timed intercourse from day 10 to day 20 of my cycle.
During that time, we tried many positions.
My doc recommended every OTHER day, but I think we tried every day.

I believe that I read the ovulation predictor incorrectly. It actually has a faint line as you begin to get close to ovulation, and gets darker and darker up to the moment of ovulation.

I took a faint line to mean that I was ovulating. Therefore, I do believe we started too early in our attempts to get pregnant, and stopped too early. (I personally think this is what caused the girl baby.....the male sperm had died by the time I really ovulated, and the femal sperm that lives longer was still there, waiting for the egg to pop out).

A boy. Baby was planned but we didn't think it would happen since we had sex after ovulation. My last menstrual period was June 6th, we only had unprotected sex June 22nd and 23rd. It was missionary position, with me on bottom. I then remember lying in bed for about 10 minutes before getting up.

I had a boy. He was not planned. We did have unprotected sex near ovulation, but I don't know the exact day of either. We had sex one night and the next morning.

We were a little rowdy that night - we did ever position we could think of! LOL
