No!! Between you, me and the wall, this guy has a lot of nerve! It is not your responsibility to potentially jeopardize your grades and experience as a student to show up an extra day due to your supervisor not having enough staff. I would seriously consider whether or not this job is worth that kinda environment.

You are being asked to do something that is illegal in a lot of states.

Your schoolwork comes first, and your boss should know better than to be asking you to skip school, you can get in trouble with the school and the business can be facing fines for having you work during school hours.

I would be having my doubts about working for this person.

I hope that you make the right decision. Good luck.

How old are you? If you are less than 18 then your boss might be breaking the law. If you are in high school that is.

If you are 18 or older and going to college then I do not see it as a violation of any law. If the boss schedules you for a day of work and you do not show up because you are at school, the boss can fire you. Some bosses are jerks like that.

If you are under 18 and/or in high school, absolutely not. He should not even be asking.

If you are over 18 and/or in college, it's up to you. If you can miss a day of school without causing yourself any problems, then help your boss out and remind him of it when it's time for raises/promotions or special considerations.

NO WAY!!! Do not skip school fr work. Your education is more important. Your boss is wrong for even asking you to.

I would never choose work over school. School will be determine your future and if your employer is aware that you have school they should understand the importance of it. It is not your fault that other people will not be there nor is it your problem. It is business and if you have to find another job than you do that.

I don't recommend it. I don't think it's illegal unless she threatens to fire you if you don't do it. Still, your education is more important than a job at the local fast food joint.
