It is more than likely that the baby will have brown eyes. Brown is a dominant eye color, let's let B = brown. Blue is recessive, let's let b= blue.
Here's what happenes if the parent with brown eyes has only brown eye genes. The out comes are Bb Bb Bb Bb. In this case the baby can only have brown eyes, because a B is more prevelant and dominative than a b. If there is one B the baby will have brown eyes. If there are two b's the baby will have blue eyes. It takes two b's to have a blue eyed person.
Here's the outcomes for a brown eyed parent with a blue recessive gene. Bb bb Bb bb. There is a 50 % chance of having a brown eyed baby. So all together there is a 75% chance of having a brown eyed baby since you average of 100 % and 50 % is 75 %. Hope I helped!

You have more chances of having a brown eyed baby than having a blue eyed one. When you have 2 blue eyed parents, you will definetly get a blue eyed baby, due to blue eyes is a recessive gene.

Yes, when it comes to genes, brown eyes are dominant. The brown eyed parents may have blue eye or green eye genes, but it doesn't show through their eyes because brown is the dominant gene. My husband has brown eyes, but his father has blue eyes. That means one of his genes has blue the other has brown. I have blue eyes, and since blue is a recessive gene, I have two blue genes. The baby will get a blue gene from me no doubt about. But it depends on if the baby gets the blue or brown gene from my husband to determine what color eyes she will have. She has a better chance of having brown eyes rather than blue eyes, but I can still hope :)

yes it is possible. It depends upon the grandparents of the baby.
Since blue is recessive trait then brown would preceed because it is dominant.
However if one of the grandparents of the baby had blue eyes It would also be possible for a blue eyed and brown eyed parent to produce a blue eyed baby.

Yes, blue is recessive but if the brown-eyed parent has blue eyed parents or grandparents he/she can be a recessive donor. Brown eyes are much more likely between a brown-eyed parent and a blue eyed one.

Of course they could! Whatever gene is dominant is what the child will most likely have. However, my sister and her husband both have very dark brown eyes and gave birth to a blue eyed baby girl. It's the luck of the draw, I guess.

Yes. My father had ice-blue eyes, and my mother had dark brown eyes. My eyes are golden brown.
Brown eyes, in genetics, is the dominant gene, so there is actually a greater chance of having a baby with brown eyes.
On the other hand, my eyes are golden brown, and my husbands eyes are brown, and our baby has blue eyes....Luck of the draw, really. There is always that chance that blue or green eyes can result, depending on the ancestors of the parents.
There is actually a site on the net where you can enter the info for your parents and you and your husband and his family, and an eye-color probability chart will open for your baby's eye color.
(they are always blue for the first 9 months)

Eyes brown eyes have a great advantage of coming out. I have blue green eyes and the daddy of my son has brown both have brown. My brother has blue eyes his child has brown the mother had brown. So the odds of brown are higher than blue!!
