I like the horse and carriage idea. Hearse would be so unique. I don't know why it is creepy. It IS just a vehicle...but it does creep me out.
Other different vehicles:
Ambulance
Fire truck
Semi truck
CHERRY PICKER. It is used by electricians and phone people, and some fire trucks have them for window rescues....it has a basket that sends you wayyyy out to the tree tops. You could ride in it secretly, then be hoisted way up, and then be let down for a big show. I don't think people are allowed to be in the cherry picker while the truck is moving. Depending on what it is, you could get everyone's attn after arriving fashionably late...by having them blow the siren...bring everyone out, and you and your date make a descent on the crowd.
Hot air balloon would be cool too.
You could ask around town and see who has the COOOLLLLEST car, see if they will give you a lift. This might be a fancy convertible, a flashy sports car, an old timer that has been restored, or a tricked out pickup, or something with a hydrolic system and bounce your way in. Depending on how nice you ask, what else you expect of them...you might get dropped off for free. Of course, they aren't going to just hang around to take you partying all night unless you really make a good offer.
You could come in on ATVs, four-wheelers and such.
Some farm friendly ideas, if you happen to be a farm girl...give a nod to your country roots.
A tractor.
A hay trailer decked out like a parade float.
You could ride HORSES there?
Just be sure you know that some of these, might require the use of helmets...if you did that, you would F up your hair.

See if you can find a semi-truck that has been converted into a limo. That would be different, for sure.

Check with the car clubs in your area. You may find someone who will give you a ride in a 1934 Ford Sedan show car. Give it a try.

why not a horse and carraige? I bet if you look in your local paper there would be someone wanting to hire one out, or if you contacted local riding stables....or you could go chinese and hire one of those things that they carry you around in ( sorry cant remember what they are called)

See if anyone has an old Model-T Ford that they would drive you in. Preferably one that has been restored.
