you are correct that quite of few of them have the tendency to stray. That is part of putting on the uniform, the power that it comes with can get to the persons mind, and then you have all those holster-sniffers that just want to sleep with a cop. If you trust your man, and you love him and the same goes for him with you, then you should be o.k. The temptation may be there, but he will be honest and loyal enough to turn it away. You just gotta know that there will be temptation, and trust that your man will deal with them in the proper way. My hubby works from 8-5 and he works a 5 on 3 off schedule. My children love him and his job, they think he is cool and I am proud of him everyday for what he does to keep us and the community that we live in safe. If I thought that my man was cheating (regardless of his career) I would drop him like a hot rock, it is not the profession that causes a man to cheat, but the character of the man.

Oh great, my husband gets out of the army this week and is considering law enforcement and I'm a worry wart, in general. I wish I hadn't read this question!!!
That's a pretty bold statement though... 95%??? I wouldn't stay in a relationship where there is no trust, it would be too hard for me. My hubby is the first man I've ever been able to trust (except for the 1st one that took that away).
Just remember, the army is a dangerous job and far from 9-5. I don't know for sure but I bet it would be safe to say that if he didn't cheat on you while in the military... he's not going to do it in the law enforcement field. If he's the cheating type, he may do it (but in that case, I don't think job matters much). Just remember... not all men cheat.

Well I was engaged to a guy getting into law enforcement. I dated him for 3 years when he wasn't in law enforcement- and 2 while he was total of 5 years. I couldn't deal with the hours, I never seen him cause when I was working he was sleeping and when he was working I was sleeping and the between time we never got to see eachother even though we lived together. Was awful and I'll never date or even consider marriage with any man in law enforcement. He didn't cheat but being ignored was very common and also from the stress he took in at work he would bring it home with him and just be a total A** and I was just supposed to understand. Not my thing. Some people dont have issues but my relationship went down hill once he got into that business! Good luck!

Every woman I've ever dated, when I've asked if she would date anyone in law enforcement for any reason, has emphatically said there is no way -- EVERY one of them cheats and will do it time and time again.
Do not make this man part of your future! I'll say it right now: "I told you so!"

you can not pin a label on your guy because of others...yes, I am sure some cops cheat..but so do other guys period....I am sure some cops don't cheat...and other guys don't either
judge him as a person...do you think he will cheat? If so, it does not matter what profession he is in, he will cheat. If you think he won't then he won't.
be cool...

get out while you still can. this man will change, his attitude towards life will harden and he will end up hating people, society, and life! I've dated one for 2 years and the change is so obvious that I noticed that my life would be miserable! Good luck!

Not all cops cheat on their wives ... If you have a very good connection with your man, and he is honest with you, it shouldn't happen.
